Teaching Excellence in Math Grades 6-8
This course provides grades 6-8 math content knowledge. This course is well suited for non-math teachers or pre-service teachers who are preparing to take the Praxis and wish to improve their math skills. Lessons are taught through interactive multimedia presentations through which teachers discover new ways to improve their mathematics content knowledge. Education Support Professionals (ESPs) who assist with classroom instruction in middle schools or who are working on their certification can also benefit from the instruction. Course objectives include operations with integers, scientific notation, an introduction to algebra, geometric relationships, and probability. Online-facilitated course features instructor for second (Northcentral University) course component.
