Reading For English Language Learners - Part 2
The number of English language learners in our schools is steadily increasing. This four-module class is designed to help mainstream teachers work more effectively with their students who are learning English as a second language.
Highlights: In this course, teachers will learn the stages of second language acquisition and characteristics of each stage, the main instructional goals for each stage, and the strategies for providing appropriate English literacy instruction for English language learners specific to each stage. Teachers will examine research and theoretical perspectives on English language learning, see models of effective practice and best practice strategies. Module 2: SILENT/RECEPTIVE STAGE.
