Participants will explore methods and strategies of Journaling that may be applied to foster students’ critical thinking skills and Meta cognition. Participants will compare and contrast key strengths and applications of different types of Journaling techniques, and learn the rationale of each. The connections between brain research and Journaling techniques, and the connections between multiple intelligences and Journaling techniques, will be identified and employed to design instruction that is meaningful and effective for the students.

Highlights: Participants will plan and teach lessons using different types of Journals to achieve specific, appropriate teaching goals. Utilizing Journals to specifically enhance student achievement by integrating prior knowledge, similarities and differences, generating and testing hypotheses, and cooperative learning, will be explored and applied.
