Human Growth and Development
The idea behind human growth and development is that there are patterns and processes that all individuals experience during the process of maturation, and that knowing those patterns and processes can be beneficial to those who work with children.
In this course, you will explore what we as educators need to know about cognitive development, physical development, and social-emotional development. You will also examine other elements, such as how environmental factors may impact development, and what role birth order plays in our maturation. You will explore fascinating information that will energize your teaching while optimizing your strategies for student success.
This 30 hour course is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, in a self-paced learning format. Educators will come away with strategies and tools designed to answer questions related to child development, and ideas related to individualized or differentiated instruction.
NEA members will receive a special discount for course access, when they register through the NEA Academy website. Credit for course completion is issued by the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) through the university’s Continuing Education Department.
