Differentiated Instruction is simply effective instruction that is well thought out, well planned, well organized and well implemented. It is instruction that meets the needs of the various learners in the classroom.

Highlights: Participants will gain insight into the attributes unique to each student for the purpose of creating learning profiles. They will learn how to differentiate curriculum elements (content, process or product) based on student need (readiness, interest or learning profile). They will also learn to differentiate specific teaching and learning strategies such as Learning Choices and Voices, Adjustable Assignments, and Flexible Grouping by creating unit and lesson plans. In addition, participants will gain an understanding of appropriate assessment strategies to meet the needs of all learners and will have the opportunity to create their own assessment planning grid.

Run time and Credit Availability: Course runs 8 weeks. Graduate credit is available from California State University-Bakersfield for $435.
